Update the group meta data as well as enabling/disabling open chat in your group.

Once a group has been created a group admin can always edit the main group details including

Title, Purpose, Group Type and Team.

New users can be added or removed from the group by the admin at any stage also.

  1. Open the app and go to the chat tab.

  2. Click on the chat group you want to update.

  3. Click on the settings button on the top right.

  4. Select the Group Info option.

  5. Click on the pen icon to open the edit page.

  • Title - Name of the group you are creating. e.g.: U14 Football Parents

  • Purpose - Reason for this group. e.g.: Communicating with parents regarding training and matches.

  • Group Type:

    • Team - Mixed Ages (Mix of U18 and O18)

      • This is a private chat group intended for communicating with participants over the age of 18 and parents of children under the age of 18. To join, one must initiate a request or receive an invite from the chat group admin.

    • Team - Players (All Over 18)

      • This is a private chat group intended for communicating with participants over the age of 18. To join, one must initiate a request or receive an invite from the chat group admin.

    • Team - Parents (Children All Under 18)

      • This is a private chat group intended for communicating with parents of children under the age of 18. To join, one must initiate a request or receive an invite from the chat group admin.

    • Committee

      • This is a private chat group intended for communicating with participants over the age of 18 who are part of an internal management group in the club such as the club executive. To join, one must initiate a request or receive an invite from the chat group admin.

    • Open Group

      • This is a public chat group intended for communicating with participants over the age of 18. There is no restriction on who can join these groups and content published will be visible to everyone in the group.

  • Team – Select from a preconfigured list of teams as defined here

  • Can Chat - Defines whether chat group is 1 way or 2 way. This feature can be enabled/disabled at any stage by the admin. Normally for team communication can chat is off.


Enabling Group Chat - Allow Group Chat

To open an existing chat group for all members irrespective of their privilege to chat the group admin can enable group chat as follows:

  1. Open the app and go to the chat tab.

  2. Click on the chat group you want to update.

  3. Click on the settings button in the top right.

  4. Click on the toggle button option to Enable Open Chat

When group chat is enabled the button option will be highlighted. To disable chat again at any stage, click on the Enable Open Chat button and it will appear greyed out when the feature is disabled.
