Chat group admins and non admins can now invite people to request to join a team chat group. Scanning a QR code or clicking on a sharable link will either:
Install the app and issue a request to join that chat group for users who do not currently have the ClubZap app OR
Initiate a request to join that chat group for users who already have the app installed but are not members of that group
Request to join a group using QR Code or Sharable Link
Any person who is part of a chat group as an admin or a regular user (parent/player) can now invite others to join that chat group using a QR code which can be scanned by the person who wants to join your chat group. Alternatively a link to join initiating a request to join the chat group can be shared using messaging applications such as email, SMS, WhatsApp and Slack etc.
For the existing chat group member
Open the ClubZap app and go to the chat tab on the bottom right of your app screen.
Select the chat group you want to share with others.
Tap on the chat group name on the title bar at the top of the app or by selecting Group Info from the menu
In the Your Settings section select Invite Others which will display a QR code similar to the following:
Clicking on Share Link With Others will create a sharable link with a secure token for sharing with others to initiate a request to join your chat group.
Note: When a user scans the QR code or clicks on the sharable link which was provided by a Non Group Admin and requests to join a chat group the one if the Chat Group admins will have to accept that user into the chat group.
For the person requesting access to the chat group
Open your camera on your smart phone and scan the QR code or click on the sharable link you received to start the process of requesting to join the chat group. Select the Join button to submit your request.
As part of the join request you will need to set your status to one of the following:
Parent
Coach
Player
Other
For Parent and Coach you can specify your Childs name when you enter the group for the first time. You can also edit your child details and your status at any stage on the group info.
Note if your status is Parent at least one Child must exist.
