What is SEO?
SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is a marketing discipline focused on growing visibility in organic (non-paid) search engine results. SEO encompasses both the technical and creative elements required to improve rankings, drive traffic, and increase awareness in search engines.
Why does my website need SEO?
The majority of web traffic is driven by the major commercial search engines, Google, Bing, and Yahoo!. Although social media and other types of traffic can generate visits to your website, search engines are the primary method of navigation for most Internet users. This is true whether your site provides content, services, products, information, or just about anything else.
The existing ClubZap websites are all pre-populated with relevant title, keyword and description information unique to your sports club but there are some simple tasks you as a club can also do to improve your SEO raking.
Add a link to your website homepage on your twitter profile, facebook profile and any other social media accounts the club owns.
Share the link to your website across the social media channels telling people to checkout your great new website.
Try to get links to to your website on some other blogs / sites / etc (i.e. get your domain added to your sporting organisations website etc)
Look at spending €20-€50 on Adwords - this will majorly boost your ranking on Google in the short term but this will have more long term residual effects.
